Pamela Matthews Vernon

Company Founder

With a degree in Interior Design and a passion for gourmet cooking and the kitchen environment, Pamela Mathews Vernon founded Classic Kitchens along with her husband, Richard Vernon, in the fall of 1999.

Pam’s background in high end office furnishing sales, a stint designing for a kitchen studio, and a year of architectural training in college served her well in this endeavor.  With a keen eye for spatial relationships and beauty, she loves providing her clients with highly functional, inviting, attractive spaces. Dick’s background in sales and love of people was ideal for the partnership.  His passion for travel to exotic locales has sparked many a conversation with likeminded clients who have become friends.

Ironically, once the business took off Pam was dedicated to growing and running the business leaving little time to spend in her own kitchen.  In 2014 a transition was made to allow Dick to fully retire, now spending his days in the company of their two Birman feline family members – reading, relaxing, and imagining the next trip.  This transition also allows Pam to continue to be active in the business as founder, advisor, and designer while working to find balance at home – tending herb & flower gardens, taking the occasional cooking class, learning French, practicing yoga, and……….cooking!!!!
